FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2018 47 SEASONED SOLOS If you are single and enjoy a variety of activities, then Seasoned Solos just might be the group for you. We currently have 20 plus members. At each meeting we discuss what is going on in the Inland Empire and plan activities for the coming month, from local lunches and dinners to excursions to Presidential Libraries, Redlands Bowl, Metro Link trips into LA and the beach train to San Juan Capistrano. There's not much that we won't consider doing. We meet on the first Friday of each month in the Lodge Craft Room at 6 pm. For further information call Joyce at (951) 850- 3055. ~ Joyce Olson Classical Music Club We are classical music lovers with an interest in sharing our love, knowledge, and interest in classical music. We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7 pm in the Theater. We listen to and watch musical selections on the big screen. Each month we focus on a particular work or several selections of one composer. We also discuss current musical performances in the area. We welcome new members. Contact Steve Benoff at steve.benoff@verizon.net or (310) 413-4896. ~ Steve Benoff The Four Seasons Rainbow Group is an informal opportunity for our LGBT neighbors (and any other residents who are interested in meeting with us) to keep up-to-date, meet new members and to have a relaxing dinner together. We meet every month on the fourth Thursday. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, April 26 at 6 pm. We gather at the atrium in the Lodge, order any Smitty's food items that we want and then move to the Lodge Card Room. Feel free to bring your own adult beverage, if you desire, and appropriate glassware. Everyone is welcome. Any questions can be directed to Dale at (951) 797-0364. ~ Dale Beckes Rainbow Group Kiwanis Club of Beaumont On March 8, we installed two new members into our club. These members are not Four Seasons residents, but they live and work in Beaumont. These younger members will bring a lot to our club with new ideas and the willingness to help our community. On April 21 the Beaumont Recreation and Park District will hold its annual fishing derby at the ponds in Cherry Valley. The fishing derby on Saturday morning from 8 am to 12 pm is for the young kids up to the age of 16. Beaumont Kiwanis club donates floating bait to the kids and we assist them with their fishing equipment, if needed. Kiwanis members will show them how to tie their fishing hooks to their line and how to cast their line into the water. We have a lot of fun watching the young kids fish and receive prizes for the biggest fish and other prizes. Several Beaumont High school students have applied for the Kiwanis Scholarships. All scholarship applications will be reviewed by the Kiwanis Scholarship Committee. The scholarships will be awarded May 17 at Beaumont High School at Senior Awards Night. We are also working on our 13th Annual Cherry Fest Car & Motorcycle Show which will be held May 26 at Stewart Park at Ninth & Orange in Beaumont. Entry forms may be obtained online at www.beaumontcherryfestival.org, or Southern California Car Culture. The Cherry Fest Car & Motorcycle Show is one of our biggest fundraisers. Last year we had 175 cars on display and several motorcycles. We had several hundred people came out to view the cars and motorcycles. We also have a BBQ of hotdogs and brats. We are looking for new members. The more members we have the more service we can do in the community and helping the children of the world. The Beaumont Kiwanis Club meets in the Lodge Conference Room every Thursday except for the first Thursday of the month. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Many of the members come early and order at the Bistro and eat prior to the meeting. You do not need to be a resident of Four Seasons to be a Kiwanis member.
