42 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2018 | 80s Plus Club Our next gathering is April 14. We'd love to have you join us and believe you would have a good time, too! If you are 80 or over, you qualify to be a member of our vibrant group. So does your spouse or your caregiver. You owe it to yourself to take a look! You can visit one time before deciding if you'd like to join. Our February entertainment was Sun Lakes' own Jon Reese, who came out of retirement for this performance. Unfortunately, there were some technical difficulties initially but after that was straightened out, Jon captured the crowd. Some of his songs were My Girl, Knock on Wood, Midnight Hour and Daddy's Home among others. Thank you Jon — you were very appreciated! The 80s Plus Club will be dark in May but otherwise meets at 3 pm in the North Clubhouse for a catered meal and entertainment. Please get your reservations and checks for $11 pp to Sandee at (909) 301-9044, 1469 Littler, by the end of the prior month. Spouses and caregivers are welcome to attend as well. Many members bring their visiting children or other out-of-town visiting guests also. You just need to let us know in advance for a head count for the caterer. For information, call Barb at 845-7904. We have two wonderful shows available for you to join. They are: Waist Watchers: The hilarious comedy on April 7 at the Grove Theater in Upland. Price is $75 pp which includes the bus and tip. Bus departs at 12:30 pm for the Saturday matinée. Seven seats available. Newsies: A wonderful Broadway show featuring lots of dancing and singing. This show won a Tony Award. Held at the great La Mirada Theater on June 21. $99 pp. Great middle seats. Bus leaves at 6 pm. Everyone welcome. Call Evelyn for more information, 845-7199. Hope to have you join us. Stardust Dancers We will have one Ballroom dance this month on Thurs., April 5 from 7 to 9 pm. We do both line dances and couples dances. Couples instruction this month will feature basic waltz steps which can be used for ballroom dancing and also country western dances. All couples are invited to come, and there is no charge. Couples waltz instruction will be on Tues., April 10, and April 24, at the South Clubhouse from 7 to 8 pm. We are learning what are termed intermediate difficulty line dances We will start over with very basic line dances in August and September.
