22 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2018 | TGIF Have you ever wanted to try line dancing? Come to the April TGIF on Fri., April 6 at 5 pm. Our very own line dance instructor, Stella, will be here to lead the group. Line dancing is fun and a great way to get your daily exercise. So come on down to TGIF for dinner, visiting, and then try the line dancing to work off that dinner and dessert. Bring a dish to share with 8 to 10 people, your own utensils and a beverage of choice. We will provide hot water, instant coffee, tea and ice. There will be a beer and wine raffle. Two tickets for $1. Don't be shy — give it a try. Line dancing is often done at Music on the Plaza and other musical events. Also, you don't need a partner to line dance! Karaoke Hi everybody and welcome to the karaoke corner. Karaoke for April will be Sun., April 8 at 2 pm following brunch. Most of you may have known that my wife had a stroke on Dec. 6, and I want to thank everyone for the cards, flowers, and kind words. She is home now and receiving in-home therapy. She is walking by herself for the most part but is still not able to do a lot with her left arm, and that is where the problem lies. She can dress herself except for one item. The other day she called from the bedroom and asked me to help her put a bra on. Now, as a young man of 17, when taking a date to the drive-in movie, I was very, very adept at unhooking this item with merely a thumb and two fingers. I informed her that I was a better taker offer, than a putter onner, but I should be able to figure this out… or so I thought. Boy, was that a mistake. Who knew that women were so flexible and mechanically inclined, and able to touch their shoulder blades with both hands, at the same time. Sometimes I can't even reach the back of my head with a comb in one hand. And then, trying to see the tiny little hooks and clips, let alone hook them up… and women can do this behind their backs? That's amazing! As I struggled, my wife asked "what are you doing?" As I tried to explain, she said "don't hook them, it's upside down." I said "what's upside down?" She said "the bra." I asked, "well it's got two exact same size beanies what's the difference?" She said, "there's a big difference, just turn it over." As I pulled this contraption around behind her she asked, "now what are you doing?" I said, "I'm hunting for the "This Side Up" tag." She said "there isn't one, just point the vee downward and slip it back around me." I immediately did that and grabbed hold of the pesky hooks and clips and pulled tight, she asked, "now what's the problem?" I explained that I was tugging on the two straps that had the hooks and clips and trying to pull them together. She said "don't hook them up yet, the bra is around my belly." I asked "can't we adjust it later? I'm close with these dang hooks." She said "no, just let go." Boy o boy I thought, I was so close. No wonder God created women, if men had to wear these things and have babies, there wouldn't be anyone here. I finally got it on right, and she couldn't even tell that I only got one hook hooked, but, maybe she could, and just figured she was lucky to get that much from me. In time I might become a very good putter onner. In fact my wife tells me department stores have people that actually fit these things on clients. Hmmm, I am experienced, and I'm sure eventually I'll be able to get both hooks hooked. Maybe I should advertise, this could turn into a really fun job. I'll have to come up with a good business name.
