4 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | APRIL 2018
By Raul Villa
The Veterans and Friends Club of SDV, would
like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who
attended our pancake fundraiser that was held at
Applebee's in February. It was the biggest pancake
fundraiser we've ever had, we surpassed the
minimum of 200 tickets sold. We would also like
to thank the ladies of the Quilting Club of SDV, for
their hard work in serving and keeping everyone's
coffee full. Job well done! The Veterans are now
working on planning our big Memorial Day event.
We're looking to have great food, and raffle prizes,
so let your family and friends know to mark their
calendars on Monday, May 28 to come join us.

In February, the day before Valentine's Day, about a
dozen Garden Group members gathered to create floral
and sand art arrangements for the holiday. Advice was
freely given and accepted, laughter and chit chat abounded,
and the results speak for themselves. Plus, our significant
others were off the hook for Valentine's Day (well, except for
maybe a nice dinner out).
This month, the Garden Group is going to Sunnylands
Center and Gardens in Rancho Mirage, and in May we will
tour the Estudillo Mansion, the San Jacinto Museum and
the Water Conservation Education Garden in nearby San
Jacinto. If you wish to receive monthly emails regarding
our meetings and excursions, please contact me at
