Artist Spotlight | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2018 | 25 BARBARA GENE KENYON is a romantic, contemporary artist whose paintings portray the beauty she sees in everything around her. Her love of color, technique, and texture bring a rich flair to her work. She challenges herself on each painting to explore all her creative talents with new ideas. Traveling throughout Europe with art teachers and other artists she has studied styles, mediums, and techniques of the masters. Her teachers, Ruth Eryich, Hal Reed and Manuel De Leon rounded out her basics. She has traveled the US taking workshops with our best acrylic and collage teachers, and continues on this journey. When an idea starts to appear and the excitemenet builds, the planning of the painting is shear joy, it's like being in a candy shop. There is so many paths of art to choose from. All within her reach, her knowledge, her heart, it's all hers. She can pick any path on her next creation. Her process of combining acrylic, collage and different techniques gives her art a rich finished look. An original idea will grow and develop with total dedication to the completion of the story. Barbara is a signature member of the International Society of Acrylic Painters (ISAP). Her paintings have hung in museums and shows throughout the United States. She has won numerous awards and ribbons, including the best of show in a five state competition. She has had three on women shows and has been published in the International Artist Magazine.
