It's a good day to get some exercise so you go to one of our gyms to walk on the treadmill and enjoy classic rock on the television. Suddenly your workout is disrupted by the person on the treadmill next to you talking on a cell phone. You also realize that another person is listening to the radio which you can hear. Is this allowed? The answer is no. The Community Guidelines list the rules for the workout rooms. The use of the equipment is for residents or tenants only. Children and adult guests are not allowed. You must wear proper workout attire including athletic shoes and clothing. The use of the equipment is on a first-come, first-serve basis and you must limit your cardiovascular equipment usage to 30 minutes when others are waiting. There is no saving of equipment allowed. Please no slamming or dropping of weights! And definitely no cell phone use or using audio or video devices without headphones. Each resident or tenant is requested to use a towel or the provided sanitary wipes to wipe equipment down after use. No food or beverages are allowed other than liquid in sealed plastic containers. All equipment is to be used in a safe and correct manner as posted or deemed by the staff and the use of the equipment is at your own risk. If at any time you feel exhausted, over-heated or light-headed, please stop exercising and inform a staff member that you may need assistance. The Board of Directors recommends that all persons have a physical exam before starting or continuing with an exercise program. Many other activities are available for physical fitness including our trail system. Keep in mind, though, that strollers are not allowed on the trails and guests (adults and children) must be accompanied by a resident at all times. As active adults, taking physical fitness seriously is important. We are fortunate to have the choice of several work out rooms and a variety of different types of equipment. So put on that proper workout attire and give it a try. The Rules & Regulations Committee meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 9 am in the RCN Conference Room.
