Getting to know us better.… Jeanne Lincoln has been the "Promoter" of the SASY Team for 12 years or more. She was born in South Dakota and shares that she has a twin sister. Jeanne has lived in Four Seasons for 15 years. She likes to think of herself as positive and joyous. We will be sharing other team members over the next few months. SASY consists of 12 strength training "moves." We focus on arms, legs, and torso. All exercises are done slowly and with a chair for balance support. The class is 30 minutes long. Come join us. We do start early – really the best part of the day! If you have questions regarding this class, please call: Jeanne Lincoln (765-7112), Char Weakley (926-2599) or Joyce Kerns (325-8840). Strong Adults Stay Young (SASY) | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | March 2019 | 29 "Walk-Fit" Exercise Club March brings with it hope for warmer days and the beginning of spring. Time to leave our winter hibernation and start moving. Come try our "Walk Fit" Class for added activity. A full hour of aerobic walking burns about 350 calories, is heart healthy and builds strength and stability. (three times a week is 1,050 calories.) The class consists of eight different Leslie Sansone "Walk Fit" dvds. The easy- to-follow routines are set to music with varying tempos. The complete class is four miles, but you can come late or leave early to shorten your routine and work at your own level. A few of the dvds incorporate resistance bands (always optional). Some class members add light hand weights for added strength training. Stop by and give us a try. New members are always welcome! Class Schedule: Mon, Wed, Fri 7:45 to 8:45 am in the Lodge Ballroom. CLASS IS FREE. For more information, contact Karen Tuvim (951) 599-4236.. Come join the fun! We play on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 7:30 am to noon. We invite anyone that would like to learn how to play Pickleball to come on down the fourth Saturday of the month at 8 am for lessons. We know you will have as much fun as we do. Players of all skill levels welcome! Pickleball Healthy Living And away we go in 2019. Can you believe it – March! We cover many areas of health concerns only one of which is weight loss. Our main focus is support for your efforts. The BIG focus is "a lifestyle change." We like the first line of the next paragraph. It works MAGIC! A positive attitude is important for successful weight management. Whether you need to lose, gain, or maintain your weight, you need to make a commitment to gradually adopt a healthier "weigh" of life. You can look at nutrition as a health investment for a long and healthy lifestyle. Whether you are 20, 40, or 55, start now to invest in your own good health. The sooner you start, the healthier you might be in the long run. You can lose weight. The best way to lose weight is to eat less; choose foods low in total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol; and exercise regularly. High fat intake contributes to excess body weight. Being overweight might increase your risk of developing high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and certain forms of cancer. Losing weight is a big plus in your overall health. We encourage team members to keep that in their goal to a healthy lifestyle. We meet every Wednesday at 9am in the Multipurpose Room. It is FREE! For information contact Dave and Karen Tuvim, 599-4236. There is a small, but fun group of women golfers in Four Seasons who gather to play weekly on Thursdays. We usually play at the Hemet Golf Course, but occasionally we travel to a different course. Also we sometimes meet for lunch after our round. We are trying to "grow" our group. We welcome all women golfers. Yes, at this time we are gender-specific; after all, we call ourselves the DIVAS. We welcome ALL levels of play, because that is what we are. No handicap required. We are not an official, sanctioned league. We just love to get together and play and socialize. You can play nine or 18 holes. If you are new to golf or have been playing for years, please consider joining us. You don't have to be a Four Seasons resident.
