Now that winter beginning pickleball classes have come to a close,
we want to thank Mike Hoggatt, Carol Alberts, Bob Berthel, Michele
and Herb Davidore, and Ann Rike for their assistance in helping with
the winter coaching duties. Mike Hoggatt and Herb Livsey are now
turning their attention to the long summer coaching session that
begins May 4. These classes will be a focus in next month's article.
President Herb Livsey has formed three-person committees to
oversee each of our sports. Direct any suggestions, questions, and
concerns to the following in each of our sports:
Badminton - Gerry and Herb Livsey and Cliff Singh.
Paddle Tennis - Sally Palmer, Allan Singer, and Brenda Stafford.
Pickleball - Kevin Cryan (monitor) Susie Anson, Margaret
Burgess, and David Levine.
Tennis - Ted Bergerson, and the committee is Joanne Goglia,
Shannon Johnston and Tami Papapetru.
Water Volleyball - Charlie Payne (monitor) Alan Ballard and
Greg Coffey.
Tennis will continue to have the biggest change with drop-in play
gaining extended playing time, from one hour to 90 minutes. Two
tournaments will be featured for the tennis players, one on Sat., April
27, with a potluck to follow. The other in October, more information
will be forthcoming.
Paddle tennis continues to grow and will be holding regular drop-
in and lessons on Monday afternoons from 2 to 4 pm on the HOA
courts. They have some equipment and instruction will be available
each time. Once a month they will go for pizza or have a potluck.
Come out and join this fun group!
Basketball has arrived at OHCC! The hoop will be set up at the
parking lot end of Tennis Court 1, and will be guided by the Racquet
Club Board. The sport will be ready to go this month, with both
afternoon and evening play.
