The Budget and Finance Advisory Committee continues to be active in reviewing our financial policies and practices, including our procurement policy and the process of determining adequate reserves. Also, the Board received and approved the audit for the fiscal year ended 3/31/2019. Per Civil Code 5305, the approved audit will be circulated to homeowners in the near future. Community Services Committee Lunch and Lecture with Dr. Rhee is on Thurs., Aug. 23 at 12 noon in Abravanel Hall. RSVP to the Clubhouse Front Desk to reserve a seat for lunch. The topic will be "Rediscover Your Inner Adonis: A Medical Look Into Longevity" and will cover the following: • Eating and exercise strategies the maturing male should adopt • Awareness of men's urologic health • Influence of diet and exercise on prostate health and prostate cancer Dr. Rhee's interests lie in the field of incontinence, urologic reconstruction, and minimally invasive techniques for BPH and is Co-Director of a Sexual Medicine/Reconstruction fellowship with Dr Irwin Goldstein in San Diego. Dr. Rhee earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and completed his residency at the Kaiser Permanente Foundation Hospitals in Los Angeles. He received both his Bachelor of Science in Biology and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Emory University. May is the second month of our new fiscal year, so the year-to-date totals reflect two months of operation. The Executive Finance Committee reviewed the financial reports for May. This month continues the trends of recent months. Revenue remained ahead of projections, and expenses were lower than expected, with the largest single piece being water by about $20,000. With extra revenue of over $6,000 and expenses lower by over $16,000, we showed a net surplus for the month of $23,000. Year-to-date we have extra revenue of $10,000 and reduced expenses of $54,000 for a net surplus of $64,000.
