FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2019 21 Finance Committee The Finance Committee held its regular meeting on June 25. The financial statement for May 2019 was reviewed and recommended for BOD approval. Highlights of the May financial report follows. Total Assets are $9,266,077 including checking $520,701 and reserve assets of $7,220,234. Operating money market and CDs totaled $1,285,572. Total Liabilities currently are $280,081 and Total Equity of $1,697,428 is a surplus balance. There was a net income gain for the month of $7,749. Front yard cost center expenses were under budget by $2,722 (driven by less water usage) and Springdale cost center expenses were over budget by $81. The overall budget variance continues to be attributed to several line items that have had lower utilization/expenses associated during this time period, e.g. water, tree trimming, and landscaping, but are expected to increase in the coming months. Nine vendor proposals were reviewed. Eight proposals were recommended for board approval and one was withdrawn by the Facilities Committee for additional work. Six committee persons and Board Liaisons, Ed Paules and Jolene Cooley, were present. There is an opening on the Finance Committee. If you are interested, please come to our next meeting on Aug. 27, at 1 pm in the RCN Conference Room. ~ Baron Ginnetti, b2ginnetti@gmail.com The repairs of the pavers at the Potrero gate entrance and traffic circle, as well as the traffic circle in front of The Lodge are complete. The Facilities Committee is recommending the replacement of the Aerobics Room flooring in the Spa building. The existing flooring was worn and at the end of its lifespan and will be replaced with new flooring, suitable to the activities held in the room. The chair lift at The Summit pool was damaged and is not repairable. The maintenance and repair costs have been high on the pool lift. We looked at a variety of options, but ultimately decided on a chair lift similar to the pool lift at The Lodge. The Lodge lift has been reliable with infrequent repairs and is an easier lift to operate. The pool chair lifts have not had a regular maintenance program. We have recommended a vendor to perform regular safety inspections and maintenance on the pool chair lifts. The safety inspections of the lifts would be performed monthly, and maintenance including checking the seals, lubricating, and calibrations would be twice per year. The Facilities Committee meets in the RCN building on the second Wednesday of the month at 10 am. We always welcome residents to join us and share their ideas or concerns. We currently have several positions open on the Facilities Committee for anyone interested in serving our community. ~ Bruce Lewis, b.lewis2794@sbcglobal.net Facilities Committee
