FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2019 39
COMPUTER & TECHNOLOGY CLASS
On a perfect Southern California morning, the Take a Hike group
gathered at The Lodge parking lot, ready to head off to Barton Flats and
Jenks Lake on Hwy 38. After our short drive and a little searching, we
assembled at the Trail Head. During the very wet winter many trails and
paths have become damaged and, in some cases, not easy to find, but
again, our intrepid group prevailed. The weather was kind to us, only
in the seventies, with much of the trail to the lake in shade. The lake is
around the 7,000 ft mark, with the trail from the highway climbing gently,
making for a very pleasant hike. The return to the highway used the same
trail as for the ascent, the group assembled at the Oaks Restaurant for our
most important after hike lunch. Another great day in the local outdoors.

TAKE A HIKE CLUB
Multi-task features of the LG WK9 Smart Display with built-in
Google Assistant were brilliantly demonstrated by resident Robin
Low at our August meeting.
Attendees were amazed by all that this device offers in Smart Home
entertainment, including making phone calls, accessing news, music,
and videos; and showing photos on its eight-inch touch-screen with
HiFi speakers. All the foregoing can be accomplished by simply
speaking into the device! Can you imagine how much easier and
more relaxed life will be when devices such as this replace the old
radio and CD combo player?
You are invited to come to our meetings and get first-hand
technological information on a variety of topics. We meet the second
Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am in the RCN.
