Ron Morgan, a long-time member of the Four Season Motorcycle Club (MC), has decided to hang up his helmet for the last time. A few weeks ago he announced his decision that it was time he retire from motorcycle riding. For anyone who loves to ride, this is probably one of the hardest decisions to make, and while all the members of the club didn't want to hear the news, everyone understands and accepts Ron's decision to put his riding days behind him. Ron's first motorcycle as a member of the MC was a beautiful Victory. He eventually transitioned to a CanAm Spyder three- wheeler. A common practice when riding in groups is to place the three-wheelers at the rear of the pack. As such, Ron was always visible in our rear view mirrors on his bright yellow CanAm; it was hard to miss. He was always referred to as our tail gunner. In recognition of Ron's many years of active membership, the club recently hosted a luncheon in his honor. At the event, he was presented with a beautifully assembled book of memorable pictures of past MC rides. Additionally, he was presented with a certificate naming him as an honorary member of the MC. This was just our way of letting Ron know that even though he will no longer be riding, he is always welcome to attend our monthly MC meetings as well as any other MC social events. We'll miss you on the road, Ron! And speaking of the road, nine riders (Paul Bricker, Bob Howard, Terry Humble plus guest, Scott Snyder, Bill Steele, Joe Bert and his guest, and Jim Ayala) are signed up for our upcoming Sierra ride. A great deal of planning by Bob Howard has gone into preparing for what is going to be a long and enjoyable ride that will include riding up the central coast, over the Golden Gate bridge, up and over the Sierras, and then back home on the 395. We will be hitting the road on Sept. 8 for this week-long ride. Howard Lyon and Steve Bennett will not be on the Sierra ride because they will be riding in the annual SCMA Three Flags Classic. This is a ride that will take them from Mexico to Canada. more on this later. For now, make us proud, Howard and Steve! And finally, welcome aboard Rocky Maldonado, as the newest member of the MC. Rocky rides a classic Kawasaki Vulcan and has already been joining us on our Thursday rides as well attending our monthly meetings. We'll see you on the road Rocky! ~ Jim Ayala, jimrayala95@gmail. com 54 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2019 Motorcycle club Ron Morgan standing proudly next to his CanAm Spyder Ron Morgan on his beautiful red and silver Victory L-R: Dan Lanphere, Howard Lyon, Ron Morgan and Bob Howard at luncheon in honor or Ron
