FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2020 43 Country Line Dancing Everyone is invited to attend our County Line Dancing and More party on Friday, Feb. 7. Not only do we play country music, but also our DJ plays other types of music that appeals to dancers of other genres. This is a free event. Buy your dinner from the Bistro, BYOB and dance or simply relax and enjoy the music and watch the dancers. We will supply ice, water, and glasses. Remember when you used to dance in high school? You spent a lot of time trying to learn new dances. No one had classes, you mostly learned from your friends or siblings. You are so lucky to have chosen Four Seasons Beaumont for your home. Did you know we have four dance classes and all teach beginners? My beginning class is coming along nicely after four weeks. Each week they learn a few new steps and one or two new dances. By the end of two months, they will be ready to move up into the next group. No one was born dancing, just feeling the beat of the music. If you have ever thought it would be fun, mark your calendar for my next beginning class on May 5 at 1:30 pm. Give it a try. Maybe you only want to learn the two basic (and most played) line dances for an upcoming wedding or other event to impress your children and grandchildren. Can you picture the smile on their faces? You can do this! Music lifts your spirits and dancing to music is great exercise for your body and does wonders for your brain. So, get out of the house, meet new fun people and move to music. You will be glad you took the time. ~ Martha Franck, (714) 345-8588 Let's Dance We are happy to share pictures from our Christmas Dinner Dance. The Ballroom was in full holiday spirit with over 150 guests! Our next event is the Summer Fun Dinner and Dance party on Aug. 1. Mark your calendars and watch for more information in the Breeze and The Lodge in June and July. We began the new year with several new faces and had a great time learning the East Coast Swing! The dance for February will be the Fox Trot. It is a smooth progressive dance characterized by long continuous flowing movements across the dance floor. If you want to dance comfortably with your spouse or any partner, this is the dance to learn! It will teach you how to lead and follow easily. We will begin on Monday, Feb. 3, and our professional instructors are again offering a free class to any new members or previous members who have not attended class in the past six months. We meet in the Ballroom on Mondays at 6 to 7 pm for Newcomers and Beginners and 7 to 8 pm for Intermediate and Advanced. After the free class, the cost is $10 per person with our professional instructors.
