FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2020 59 As you read this article, we have already completed a tournament against the Curly Cues. (For those of you who don't know about the Curly Cues, it's the awesome women's billiards group at Four Seasons.) We can't tell you yet who the winners are, as it was held the last Tuesday of January, so you'll have to look for the results in the next issue of the Breeze. We can tell you, however, that it was a lot of fun. Even though the Curly Cues have only been playing together for a couple of years, their skills have improved so much, there were no handicaps given to the Billiards for Fun players… to sorta even out the play (if you know what we mean). Everyone is very competitive and fun, and even with a stressful tournament in progress, there's still great support and encouraging comments. On Feb. 10 we will have our Billiards for Fun Group Quarterly In-House Tournament which is always a lot of fun. The morning session will join the afternoon session at 1 pm for the tournament. Winning partnerships have the honor of having their names engraved and placed on the BFFG perpetual plaque. Everyone has such a good time (as evidenced by our newest members in the adjacent photos). If you have been thinking of joining a really fun group of billiard players, please stop by The Lodge Billiards Room any Tuesday at either 11 am to 1 pm session or 1 to 3 pm session. (Since we have so many players, we have two sessions.) Dave Martin heads up the morning session, and Pete Antoine hosts the afternoon session. They both make the play a lot of fun. We also have reserved the Billiards Room on Saturdays during the same time slots for anyone who wants to join our group for a practice session. Hope you are curious enough to come watch the play… and then join the group! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine, egcellent@msn.com Billiards for Fun Wild Bunch Billiards The "Wild Bunch" 8-Ball Billiards Group is geared for those individuals who want to play competitively with those of their skill level. We started the new year with inviting the best of the best from Sun Lakes and Solera to play competition on Fridays, from 12:30 to 3:30 pm in our Billiards Room. It has been a great success with the skill levels ranging from Level 4 to Level 7. The "Wild Bunch" consists of some of the best players in the league: Joe Spinella, Lucas Don, Robert Howard, Bob Rector, Mike Corbett, Carlos Rivera, LeRoy Wright, Rocket Spinosa, and Gracy Luna. We will be having our 3rd Annual Wild Bunch Billiards Tournament in the April/May time frame. We will be competing with Sun Lakes and Solera, playing 8-Ball in the morning and 9-Ball in the afternoon. If you want to play serious, competitive pool, we invite you to come by the Billiards Room and join in the stimulation of competitive play. We do not play with partners; we play one-on-one with an opponent of your skill level. We are always looking for those who want to play competitively and, who knows, you just may want to change up your game and play on the team. And, most importantly, we have a good time! ~ Gracy Luna, gracyluna@aol.com New member Rick Van lines up his shot Smiling Nancy Van shows off her skills New member Vern Fusilier strategizes Basketball Everyone is welcome. We meet at the basketball court Fridays starting at 4 pm. Bring your energy and be prepared to have some fun. ~ Richard Hoffman
