The Pink Ukuladies & Gents The Pink Ukuladies & Gents are enjoying their classes each week by participating in a Zoom application that Director Lily Fedotowsky initiated. Thank you, Lily. They are practicing the songs initially prepared for the Inland Empire Festival which was to take place in May of this year. We are sending all our thoughts to our friends and neighbors. We look forward to getting back together and continuing to entertain everyone very soon. For more information about Pink Ukuladies & Gents, contact Director Lily Fedotowsky at (941) 662-0633, or visit the website at pinkukuladies.com. She can also be reached by email at pinkukuladies@outlook.com | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2020 | 31 The Board of SLP wishes you all good health and humor during these unprecedented times. We hope you have enjoyed watching our production of That's Entertainment: Chasing the Dream on Channel 97 and it has whet your appetite to come out for our next one in 2021! I asked the Board what they are doing to stay busy with our Playhouse members and here are some of their responses. Maybe they will encourage you to try something new! Barbara Searcy: Reading old classics - just finished Pride and Prejudice and currently reading Lord of the Rings; Yoga for seniors via YouTube; Virtual Clavinova lessons (taught by Marco Mendez). Martie Steggell: Joan Lau and I made face masks and delivered them to the Marvavilla Care Center in Cherry Valley, CA. They were thrilled to get them and distributed them to their staff. Lee Stone: My family and I wrote and performed a parody we call The Pajama Game. You can see it on our Facebook page – Tin Man's Heart. We're staying busy with board games and walks, and we just got a sweet 11-year-old kitty named Lily! Michelle Clark: Since buying bread has been an issue, I have been making bread at home - so good I may not go back to store-bought bread again. I am also working on finishing a video of our Photo Safari through Tanzania. And of course, reading reading reading - totally into the Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn and alternating that with the entire Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan series - great books. Sun Lakes Follies The Follies are coming! This year's theme is "Sun Lakes Does Vegas!" Sorry, but until this COVID-19 "veil of uncertainty" is removed, our monthly meeting at the South Clubhouse on May 21 has been canceled. If you are planning to perform in the Follies, please keep practicing! If you would like to help out backstage, help with other jobs or have questions, please give Olga Marquette, Membership a call at (951) 846-3579. The show will be here sooner than you think on Sept. 25, 26 and 27. Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. The Pink Ukuladies & Gents quickly adapted to the new normal and continued practicing "together" using the Zoom app.
