| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2021 | 3 General Manager's Message By Rick Ruth, CMCA A very different Happy New Year huh? With the current COVID "Stay at Home" orders, I hope all of you were able to spend some time (safely) with friends and family during this holiday season. This season was unlike any other any of us have experienced. One wonderful tradition that was able to continue was the beautifully decorated Lodge. JoAnn Sopata and her many volunteers did another awesome job decorating the Lodge. This year the World Cup Gatehouse was also decorated with lights and a tree. A BIG THANK YOU to all of the volunteers! We hope you had a chance to stop by and see the beautifully decorated trees and arrangements. I have a lot to go over so will get right to it. January starts up the year for many things that relate to managing your association and following the requirements of the California Civil Code. A couple items worth mentioning are the upcoming annual meeting in April and the 2020 year-end Financial Audit report from the CPA, also due in April. When the COVID virus came upon us in March of last year, the shutdown and subsequent protocols caused delays in the 2019 audit review and approval process. Fortunately, the Board approved the 2019 draft at the Dec. 9 Board (Zoom) meeting. *You will be receiving a copy of the 2019 FYE Audit this month. Re-stated CC&R & Bylaw Voting: In December, all Owners of Record received a Notice of Upcoming Meeting to vote on the Re- stated CC&Rs and Bylaws. This notice precedes a more important notice and packet. The packet will contain information announcing the meeting to vote on the drafts of both re-stated documents. Also included are the white and colored return envelope, and the important ballot. There are instructions on how to submit your ballot once you cast your vote. It is the same procedure as the annual election. The Board, the Association's Attorney, Ad-Hoc CC&R Committee and management have spent hundreds of hours reviewing the current documents, deleting all of the Declarant language, preparing the sections in a more organized fashion and added recent legislation going into effect Jan. 1st. The Board also received valuable input from many residents. Most of the comments were inserted into the document. Thank you to those who submitted comments. Multiple revisions were carefully reviewed by the Board and the Attorney. This resulted in a comprehensive up-to-date and simpler to understand CC&Rs and Bylaws. The voting, if enough ballots are received, will take place Feb. 24. Please vote; this is too important and expensive to do over. You will also be receiving information on the Board elections. This year, three positions are up for election. As always, your vote and submitting your ballot is necessary to achieve quorum for the election. More to come. Lastly, our staff family and I hope that you stay safe and we hope 2021 brings good things to all of you!
