| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2021 | 23 Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, & time. Happy Campers RV Club Some Happy Campers RV Club members took a trip to Quartzsite, Arizona in January. This is a "dry-camping" outing but is always so much fun! Sitting around a campfire and enjoying socially distanced potlucks. Some folks will go into town for a meal or possibly shopping. The pictures are from a previous outing to Quartzsite, but bring back memories of good times. Others will head on over to Emerald Cove along the Colorado River. One of the best memories of Quartzsite is the expansive, starlit night sky. Emerald Cove offers RV sites on the river to RPI members and their guests. Although the Happy Campers group were unable to meet in January, we continue to make plans for a few trips in 2021 and looking into plans for a cross-country (East Coast) trip in 2022 (whew!). We will continue to try to schedule our meetings, so hold that first Saturday of the month just in case! Stay safe out there — wear your mask! And hope to see you all soon! January has come and gone before we could even really celebrate the beginning of 2021. I am sure we all want to say a big good-bye to 2020. We continue to wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year and hope everyone stays safe. Our Club members are anxious to begin our fun filled activities real soon we hope. In the past years, our fun activities included Women's Teas, outings to various museums, and plays both at local theaters and as far as Ontario, CA. We even carpooled to San Juan Capistrano for a shopping day and lunch. We've enjoyed in-house activities at The Lodge with Game Day Bunco-Bingo and a fun dice game called Nickels which included a potluck luncheon and prizes for the winners, as well as fashion shows and visit to the local wineries, just to name a few. We meet (when allowed again) at The Lodge on the fourth Monday of the month at 3 pm in the Ballroom. We look forward to the day we can all reconnect and gather as a group. I will be happy to announce when this will be a reality. There will be a number of ladies within the community who will want to get back out there and have some fun again, so please join us. We always welcome new members. Any questions? Please call Lucille Gould at (951) 325-8366. Our membership has 41 wonderful ladies. One of our philanthropic efforts is to support Valley Restart Shelter here in Hemet. Valley Restart is a non-profit that helps homeless individuals and families get back on their feet to become employed and self-sufficient. As a group. we have continued to support them with bimonthly donations of paper goods to personal grooming needs. We also have had some generous non-members from the community contribute to our cause. A big thank you goes out to them. We live in a very loving community. In December our group donated $200 to Valley Restart. We received a thank-you letter for our donation. Since the pandemic started, Valley Restart began only taking families who are in great need. They can only house about 30 people. I am so proud of our group that during these hard times we still continue to support others in need. God bless you all. Have a happy Valentine's Day, hug your loved ones, and stay well. ~ Lucille Gould FS Ladies Club Pickleball Come join the fun! We play on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 7:30 am to noon. We invite anyone that would like to learn how to play Pickleball to come on down the fourth Saturday of the month at 8 am for lessons. We know you will have as much fun as we do. Players of all skill levels welcome!
