| THE COLONY NEWS | MARCH 2021 | 27 By Leo Alonzo, 714-473-9969 Hello campers and glampers… Happy St. Patrick's Day and a warm welcome to all of you "spring breakers!" If you are ready to hit the road to get some fresh air, a change in scenery and slowly ease out of the daily humdrum of quarantining, come join the Colony Roadrunners RV Club. If you have been thinking about getting an RV but not yet ready to make the decision, try renting one. There are some campgrounds that have rental trailers on site or there are trailer rental companies that will deliver them to an RV campground of your choice. You may also rent a motorhome to drive to your favorite campground. A few campgrounds have a variety of accommodations such as lodges, cabins or yurts available for rent. The RV Club's first official trip is from April 11 to 14 at the Chula Vista RV Resort, followed by a trip to Lake Tahoe from June 7 to 12 and then to Buellton Flying Flags RV Resort from Oct. 17 to 21. If you need more information about the club call me, Karen Alonzo at (714) 458-3957 or Nancy Adam at (760) 954-6515. RV Club CLUB NEWS By Bonnie Graham, 619-889-6770 The Colony Players Theater Group is getting ready to entertain you! It has been a tough year, but we are hopeful. If all goes well, please join us for our annual "Meet and Greet" in the Lounge from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, May 10. We provide the libations and snacks, and this is a great opportunity to get to know us and meet new folks. Since our 2020 annual variety show has been on hold, we are again hopeful that we can have this production in 2021. We have requested dates for the month of October. As you know, many factors may come into play this year and things can change, so cross your fingers! This production is titled The Colony's Got Talent, Sock it to Me! and will feature your fellow residents showing off their talents. In addition, we will have our very own Laugh-In team to bring some funny stuff from the long-ago television show. If you are interested in being in the show, assisting the performers backstage, helping with props or setting up the tables with programs, we need you. Please call Brenda Sindorf (698-7097) or Carol Strutt (698-0318) if you have any questions. Players eater Group Doesn't matter what type of recreational vehicle you have, come and join the Colony RV Club!
