Racquet Club As the days warm up, do not forget there are welcoming outdoor spaces in the late afternoons and evenings to participate in scheduled play or to reserve a court for yourself, friends, and family: • Water volleyball plays Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3 to 5 pm through Labor Day. • Badminton makes its summer return on the first, third, and fifth Wednesdays beginning at 6:30 pm at the Clubhouse courts. Instruction provided. • Play tennis under the lights on Pavilion Court 4 or play at the Terrace Courts 8-9 until dusk. • Paddle tennis is available at the HOA courts until dusk. • Pickleball offers a variety of evening drop-ins, open play and reservation play, and a new Challenge Court the second and fourth Wednesdays beginning at 6:30 pm at the Clubhouse courts 1–3. Cannot decide? Stop by our beautifully refreshed racquet court venues during your evening stroll, sit a few minutes and take in the action under the lights! Could not do that last summer! Free summer lessons are underway for all racquet sports. The current classes may be full, but contact our Help Desk at ohrchelp@ gmail.com to see if there are openings or to get on the interest list for future classes. Tennis hopes to bring more players to — or back to – the courts with the addition of new resident and tennis pro Greg Smith to our teaching staff. What is "Open Play" at the courts? Any resident may walk on to any available unreserved open court at any time during "open play" and use that court (with other residents or with their guests) for up to 60 minutes (paddle tennis and pickleball) or 90 minutes (tennis). The resident is expected to yield the court promptly at the end of that time if there is another resident waiting to use the court; otherwise, the resident may continue to use the court until it is needed by another resident. If you prefer, reservations can be made through the Skedda booking system to guarantee a court at a particular time. Any resident can do this with a reservation ID.
