Neighborly Notes Congratulations to our Lodge Attendant Nellie Alcocer for her well-deserved recent promotion to Administrative Assistant. She is a very talented young lady! Welcome to a new Lodge Attendant, Jeff Jordan. If you see him at the desk, please wave or say "hi" so he will get to know us. A reminder from Lisa Lynn, our General Manager: Please note that no vehicle or pedestrian access is allowed into the Fuel Modification Area (FMA) during fire season. The FMA borders the Four Seasons Community on the Phase C west and south sides. This area is maintained by the Association to reduce fire hazards and the Beaumont Fire Inspector has noted that they can fine individuals who are on foot or in/on a vehicle in these areas during the high fire season. Violators can be reported to the Beaumont Police Department. You will definitely need a few days of rest after the Fourth of July events in our community. Plan to be a part of the festivities! And, while you are enjoying the contests, potluck, awards, variety show and the music at the Lodge, be sure By Bobbie Eckel that your home is festooned with red, white and blue. Show the colors! The Board of Directors General Session will be held on Thursday, July 11, at 1 pm in the Ballroom. This is a good time to come listen to the plans for the rest of the year and hear the HOA Committee reports. We are always trying to recruit members for our committees. It would be encouraging if each standing committee made sure to have a representative attend so that new residents could identify the committee member and be encouraged to attend meetings. A live supportive person is more likely to encourage participation than simply the note that the committee report is on a certain page in the BOD packets. Four Seasons is making an effort to make our streets safer for pedestrians by enforcing our speed limits. Joggers and walkers using the streets can do their part by being more aware of traffic around them. It is not easy to hear automobile noises when both of your ears are plugged with your music or news station. Remember, too, that the electric cars and many hybrids do not make obvious automobile sounds. As a bicycle commuter for many years, I learned that only one ear should be plugged with a sound instrument. The other should be available for emergency sounds around you. Let's all work to make Four Seasons safer. Tune in to the sounds around you and watch out for cars and trucks — as well as other joggers! Our Four Seasons Club Fair will be held on July 27. Many committees are looking for new members. Mark your calendars and come to the Lodge at 11 am to find out exactly what each committee does — and what you could do to contribute to Four Seasons. Some residents have reported that trash bins waiting for collection on Tuesday mornings have been knocked over and the contents strewn across the alley or street. The speculation is that our bobcat population is looking for easy pickings for meals. The more we expand construction into the areas formerly inhabited by wildlife, the more we force the animals to seek alternate means of obtaining food. Leaving the full bins outside during the night is taking a risk. You might want to wait until morning to set out the containers. A big thank you goes out to the band members of the group "Gray Matters." They gifted the community with a free concert on May 24, and everyone loved it!
