Men's Golf

It was great being able to resume our monthly
luncheons in the Auditorium once again. The
luncheon was well attended and included a special
event on the agenda. At the beginning
of the year, the CMGC Board decided to
recognize the birthdays of our members
joining the "Nonagenarian Club." That is,
we would have special recognition
in the birthday month of a member
turning 90. Well, we had our first
opportunity to do just that at our
August luncheon with long-time
member Bob Harrison (left), who
turned 90 that month. Bob joined
the CMGC in 1990, just a few months
following the Club's formation! Bob
was presented with an oversize
birthday card signed by all of us, a prepaid round of golf
(yes, Bob is still playing golf!) and everyone was treated
to a piece of his birthday cake. Happy Birthday, Bob!
And let's not forget our golf tournaments during the
month which produced two special mentions:
• Mel Rich has done it again – shot under his age,
scoring an 80 from the white tees. Congratulations, Mel!
• And Bill Connelly had an eagle (2 under par) on the
par 5 difficult 7th hole. Well done, Bill!
Two very notable achievements!
Why not join us and enjoy playing a round on a
Wednesday? Call John Hoetker (461-6758) if you're
interested in becoming a member.
