COMMITTEE NEWS
As fall approaches, the Communications
Committee is returning to two meetings a month
beginning in September. We will meet in the Meeting
Room on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 10 am. Any
Colony resident is invited to attend as a guest at our
meetings to determine whether you would like to
apply for membership on our committee.
We have been busy editing the candidate
interviews for the HOA Board of Directors. By the
time you read this, they should be posted online on
our YouTube site.
Rita Nastri and her Outreach to History
subcommittee have all been extremely busy
preparing for the video interviews of our founding
members. We met with them on Aug. 24 to review the
process of recording, documenting and preserving
their interviews.
In addition, the Communications Committee
has been attending the New Member Orientation
sessions. We were very successful with our first two
raffles and will have five all total.
Projects we are investigating include the possibility
of Colony Daze. This would be a period of time
where individuals, clubs and communities would be
invited to document their day-to-day life. We would
then edit these into a Day in the Life of The Colony.
There will be prizes in several categories for the
picture or video best displaying the interpretation
of an active 55+ community. Also under discussion
is the possibility of creating a Colony time capsule to
be opened in about 20 years.
