social singles Our next dinner meeting is Fri., Aug. 9, at 6 pm in the South Clubhouse. Doors open at 5:30 pm. "ALOHA!" Feel the cool, tropical breeze as it gently caresses your lovely face. No, you're not dreaming… you're at our wonderful luau dinner! We will be having slow-cooked Kalua pork and Uncle Tui's sesame teriyaki chicken with steamed rice, macaroni salad, fresh fruit, green salad & rolls… and, apple pie for dessert. Sun Lakes' own Polynesian Dancers will be enchanting you with their dance. All this for $13 pp! Guests are $15. If you live in Sun Lakes, you may come as a guest one time only, and then you must join the club for $10. Guests living outside of Sun Lakes are welcome at $15 pp. We can only accommodate 99 people in the South Clubhouse for our dinner meetings, so your attendance will be on a first come first serve basis. Make checks payable to Social Singles and drop your checks to Betty McMillion, 5549 Pinehurst Dr., 769-6636. Those who want to sit together should put their checks in one envelope. If you have signed up for the dinner meeting and are unable to attend, PLEASE call Betty McMillion so she may give your reservation to someone on the wait list. You will receive your money back. For additional events, see the Social Singles flyer in the clubhouse lobby. July 28: "THE KING AND I." Leave at 10:15 am. Candlelight Pavilion, Claremont. $49. Choice of wonderful entrées. The wonderful Rodgers & Hammerstein's production which is a truly unique love story. Aug. 2: "THE SOUND OF MUSIC." Redlands Bowl. FREE! (Donation) Leave at 6 pm. This will be a performance like you've never seen this show done before! Bring dinner, if you like. Aug. 4: "THE HORIZON CHAMBER PLAYERS." 2 pm, $10. Ballroom. Featuring violinist Maki Sowash joined by her friends from Japan. A reception following at the South Clubhouse immediately after the show. $5. Aug. 15: "THURS. CRAZY 8 DINNER." 5:30 pm. Dining room, RSVP Patty Joeb, 769-7008 by 8/12 . Aug. 18: "Barbershop harmony society." 3 pm. Ballroom, Both the Barbershoppers' (men) and Sweet Adelines' (women) are going to give us their beautiful harmony. Lovely show. Maybe dinner?. Aug. 21: "TOUR OF MARCH AIR FORCE BASE." $10. Leave at 9:30 am. Guided tour includes main hanger, second hanger, mission control room, new exhibit hall, and flight line with over 70 aircraft. A must see living in this area. Lunch at Olive Garden. Must have reservations in by 8/8. Aug. 23: "CLOSING SYMPHONY." Redlands Bowl. FREE! (Donation) symphony conducted by Frank Fetta, featuring Yana Reznik, guest piano soloist. Bring dinner, if you like. Aug. 31: "SAT. LUNCHEON." 11:30 am. Dining room, RSVP Doris Harrison, 769-3990 by 8/28. ATTENTION: This is the last year for the Palm Springs Follies. We will be going Sun., Dec. 29. $52. At this time, I have 20 tickets. $10 deposit required.
