18 18 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2022 | | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2022 | Team Sunshine "With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" Kindness Award: At the May meeting, Team Sunshine presented a Kindness Award to Zoomie Hoang. Zoomie is an extremely involved member of the Four Seasons community. He has formed a pickleball clinic for those wishing to learn the correct way to play. Since coaching on the safe way to play, there have been no injuries on the court. He is always ready and willing to assist the social committee with set-ups for functions and always shows up with at least five others to help. In addition to his helpfulness in our community, he also volunteers daily at his church. He is a friendly, helpful guy and is always happy and brings infectious laughter wherever he goes. Sunshine also honored his wife, Margaret for her support of all Zoomie's activities. If you witness a member of our community doing a kindness, please pick up a form at The Lodge front desk so we can acknowledge them. Nonagenarian Birthday Celebration! Calling all 90+ year-old Four Seasons Residents. Team Sunshine would like to honor you with a celebration on Wednesday, June 29th at 2:00 p.m. If you, a friend, or neighbor, who is a Four Seasons resident and are in your nineties, please let us know and we will send an invitation to this wonderful birthday party. Sunshiners of the Year: A Sunshiner(s) of the Year is honored each year. This person or persons are recognized for services to Sunshine above and beyond the norm. The honorees this time are the Card and Phone Teams. While Four Seasons residents were experiencing the quarantine of the pandemic, these teams continued sending cards and making calls to those who were facing medical issues, depression, or the loss of a loved one. From March 2020 through December 2021 the Card Team sent almost 400 cards. These cards were then followed up with one and sometimes more calls by the Phone Team. If you wish to see previous honorees, our Sunshiner of the Year plaque hangs in the Team Sunshine nook in the card room. A Fond Farewell: Team Sunshine said goodbye to two of our long-time Sunshiners who have decided to move to Florida. Bev and Dave Habig have volunteered since their arrival in our community. Both are members of the Card Team. Dave has been our official photographer and videographer and both have served on the clean- up team. We will miss them and wish them well. Celebrations of Life: Team Sunshine is assisting the family of Lee Harper in planning a celebration of life on Fri., June 10. We have also received word of Sharon Blaettler's passing and we've been in contact with her family. Sunshine attempts to reach as many of our residents as possible when they need comfort or cheering. If you have a neighbor or friend in Four Seasons who may be dealing with a recent injury, or lingering illness; has suffered the loss of a family member or is feeling blue; we ask that you let us know. An unexpected card or phone call can do much to brighten someone's day. Prayer Requests: For those wishing prayer, a request box is provided in the Multipurpose Room. Prayer cards are provided. If you are interested in joining the prayer group, please call Marietta Ruppaner.
