30 | THE COLONY NEWS | JUNE 2022 | CLUB NEWS
By Gloria Carroll
June is the month that the Colony Cousins club traditionally
meets for its Summer Potluck, when we enjoy good food and
conversation and share a genealogical find or story. This year
our Potluck falls on Flag Day, Tuesday, June 14, and as usual it
will be at 1pm in the Annex. Please bring a dish to share, either
a main dish, side dish, salad or dessert. Water and paper plates,
etc., will be provided.
After lunch, there will be an opportunity to tell about
something you discovered while researching your family, such
as an unusual story or how you found it, an ancestor's item you
inherited, or a resource you found valuable-- whatever you
think might be of interest to others. Please sign up for this after
you arrive.
There will be a short Board meeting at 12:20 pm in the Annex
before the potluck. If it has not concluded when you arrive,
please let them finish.
We would like to know how many to expect, so please RSVP
by emailing me at pookiedook4@gmail.com. If you have any
questions, please contact Lennie Martin, acting President, at
lenniem07@yahoo.com, or call (503) 269-9987.

The Colony Players Theater Group will be holding auditions
for our Oct. 22 and 23 production of The Colony's Got Talent
II, Remember When? We have chosen short scenes from the
favorite vintage television shows of Mission Impossible, Dragnet,
Carol Burnett, I Love Lucy, Get Smart, and Cooking with Julia
Child. All scenes will have little or no dialogue to perform
accompanied by our popular singers and dancers.
Auditions for skits and MCs will take place on Monday, June
20 at 6 pm in the Auditorium. Scripts for auditions will be
available upon request after Wednesday, June 1, by contacting
Brenda Sindorf via email at dancerone@verizon.net.
We also need backstage assistance. So please don't be shy;
give it a try! We love new faces, and we will help anyone
interested in being a part of the show.
For more information, please contact Brenda Sindorf or Carol
Strutt at 951-698-0318.
