| THE COLONY NEWS | OCTOBER 2022 | 35 Jack & Jill The August tournament is behind us, and with the heat, it was a brutal day on the links for sure. Touted to be a breakout number of foursomes, we were unable to fill in the 15th as travel and Covid interfered with that goal. Nonetheless, the brave faced the grueling links and finished out the game. My hats off to the 56 golfers who challenged for first place position, "Pick Your Own Foursome" competition. When the tournament was over, the following came out of the pack and posted winning positions: Winning Teams "A" Flight 1st: 47.836 - John and Anita Hoetker, Dave and Pat Bailey 2nd: 49.860 - Bob Miller, Linda Peterson, Bruce and Lori Dalfonso 3rd: 51.884 - Charles Craven, Paula Thomas, Randy Meyer and Annette Lalicker "B" Flight 1st: 43.806 - Terry Lindquist, Sue Jordan, John and Pat Sparkenback 2nd: 45.425 - George Herrera, Lisa Schrader, Ted Noun and Laurie Freres 3rd: 48.620 - Bruce and Ann Hartwig, Del Mitchum and Leigh Tsumura Closest to the Pin #5: Women, Paula Thompson – 17'11" / Men, Terry Lundquist – 7'7" #15: Women, Paula Thompson – 17'2" / Men, John Hoetker – 1" WOW! #16: Team #7 John and Anita Hoetker, Dave and Pat Bailey – 4' WOW! DARWIN AWARD An interesting development has surfaced in this prestigious award. Your Humble MC/ CEO has begun to develop some "sources" to assist him in uncovering what can only be described as "dark" events occurring unknown to him. His "sources" will assist in making the 60 or so contributors that turn the tides on him into assisting him to have a fair and impartial advocate for the presentation. A new era has begun! Team or Person: #15, Leo Alonzo, Billie Brown, Rich and Bea Brown Issue: As reported (by my sources) it seems they placed the CTP marker of #15 and left their score card attached that was to be retrieved sometime later. How much later? The next contest is set for Thursday, Oct. 13, and will be our A & B Format. As with all Jack and Jill events, you DO NOT have to be a member of either the Men's or Women's Golf Clubs to play. Just pick up your sticks and join us for the fun and friendly competition. See ya on the links! By Dennis Murphy, 461-0457
