| OHCC LIVING | OCTOBER 2022 | 33 One of the many advantages of living in Ocean Hills is that we have access to a vibrant city life as well as access to beautiful nature. So, recently, nine RVs headed down to San Diego to the Mission Bay RV Resort for a little local get-away alongside the bay. This was a pop- up trip without a Wagonmaster, however, they still managed to do quite a bit of activity together. There is a 12.5-mile walk/bike path encompassing the entire perimeter of Mission Bay. Surprisingly, many of our RVers have gotten into electric biking and this was the perfect place to take a long ride without a lot of hills, traffic and congestion. They circumnavigated the bay in both directions during their stay. One evening, several had dinner at the Garage, followed by entertainment at the Shout House - a lively venue with dueling pianos and talented musicians providing a great night out. There were 13 RVers who went to an exciting baseball game at Petco Park and cheered as the Padres put together a great come- from-behind victory in the bottom of the ninth! They also put several grilles together at the RV park and shared a tasty and enjoyable potluck supper. The food and socialization were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Also staying close to home, the RV Club Social Committee arranged a great "Day at the Races" at the Del Mar Track. It was a fun outing for about 50 members who spent the day handicapping their favorite picks, eating, drinking and socializing at the track. Coming up next is the trip to Pismo Beach area: Oct. 23-28. Sixteen RVs and four WOW couples have signed up to explore this area of the California coast. The Pechanga RV Resort trip will happen in November with a Thanksgiving theme. The next meeting is Oct. 20 in Abravanel Hall. Socialization is at 6:30 pm and business meeting at 7 pm. RV Club
