34 | OHCC LIVING | OCTOBER 2022 |
Garden
Club
A fun time was had by all at the Garden Club's plant sale during the
OHCC Flea Market. Many thanks to all those who supported the sale
and to our members, who donated their time and talents to make the
sale such a huge success.
The success of fundraisers like this enables the Garden Club to
continue our efforts to beautify OHCC. We are adding some additional
plantings to Inspiration Hill and planting some much-needed color
in front of the new sign at the front entrance and at the median. We
appreciate your support of our endeavors and look forward to new
ways to beautify our community.
Our Oct. 12 speaker will be Dominique Dashwood, from
ProduceGood. She will discuss how her organization partners with
homeowners and growers who have excess produce and redirects
that food to people who need it. This program is a win-win for
sustainability, to alleviate hunger and to re-purpose waste from our
landfills. We look forward to working with ProduceGood in early
2023, when they have a gleaning date planned for OHCC. This event
and organization have been approved by the HOA. Our meeting
social time begins at 9:30 am and the speaker begins at 10 am.
As we head into the holiday season, make sure you mark your
calendars for Dec. 14, our Holiday Luncheon, catered by The Village
Pie Shop. The program will be educational beauty makeovers
provided by the BeautyCounter. It should be a fun afternoon. Ticket
information will be available soon. Be sure to include the luncheon
in your holiday plans.
