50 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2022 This is the perspective of the artist of the month, Elaine Jacobsen: First, let me say that I am surprised and honored to have my artwork chosen for the Mixed Media Art class article. Just a year ago, I had zero experience drawing, painting, or any piece of art work. I owe my success to our exceptional teacher, Rob Kelman, who has guided and nurtured any artistic ability I may now have. Also, credit goes to my classmates whose encouragement and advice have been vital to my learning. Last but not least, to my brother-in-law for the lovely easel, art supplies, and encouragement, without which I would not have joined the art class in the first place. To all, a resounding thank you! Classes are Mondays from 10 am to 12 noon and/or Wednesdays from 6 to 8 pm. There is a nominal $5 fee per person, per session. If you have any questions, call Rob Kelman at (951) 992-9156. ~ Rob Kelman Mixed Media Arts At the September meeting, we were entertained by Colin Taylor and his "Magic Ropes" Italian slideshow, singing by Karen Belcher and Marianne Bugni, and an impromptu script reading featuring volunteers Anita Finkelstein, Dan Hazeltine, and Susan Youel. It was a fun time for all with a lot of laughter and fun. There was discussion about purchasing enhanced video cameras with the cost to be shared with other groups and the HOA. This could significantly improve our videos for our stage shows. For any newcomers to Four Seasons, this club supports volunteers from our community who love to perform, sing, or act, as well as provide tech, staging, producing, etc. We have reserved the second Monday of each month in the RCN Main Room for a social and club meeting. Mark your calendars in advance for Nov. 14 and Dec. 12 at 6 pm. Bring snacks to share and BYOB. We plan to highlight members as they volunteer each month with their "special talents." The PAC goal is to offer three to four live staged events annually. These shows are free to our residents. We are also working on possible one-night events as the schedule permits. You also can enjoy the Four Seasons Bell Choir and their upcoming December concert. At the November meeting, elections will be held for the 2023 officers. Open positions are Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer. Anyone interested please contact me before the Nov. 14 meeting. We have formed a Strolling Carolers group for the holidays.
