50 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2022 Fall has hit the pickleballers with delightfully warm breezes and welcoming coolness. Our membership continues to grow and new friendships are being made. We have been busy playing for fun and some of our players are playing in tournaments all over the area. Hemet held its Oldlympics and many of our players won medals — not just in pickleball, but other events as well. On Oct. 15, we held our first fall tournament. Our tournament organizer, Miss Kelly Vucinic, did an outstanding job in creating the various women's and men's doubles teams. We played according to skill level to make it more fun and challenging for all. This was an in-house tournament that culminated in a delicious breakfast burrito for all involved. On Nov. 19, we conducted a 55+ tournament for our friends in surrounding communities. It was a nice day to meet other players in our community. Medals and gifts were given to winners and all players. Join us! We play every day starting at 7 am. Beginner class 9:30 am on Saturdays: Introduction to Pickleball. Don't miss out. Remember to keep pickling. ~ Marty Key, keeksmail@yahoo.com Not only kids can have play dates. Several of our paddle tennis folks had a play date with the Sun Lakes paddle group in October. The folks at Sun Lakes hosted our play date and they were great. It was a lot of fun and great socialization with others who love this sport as much as we do here. Our teams played against theirs and then we mixed up the players for additional challenging play. We hope to continue the friendship with more play dates between the two communities. Our play times change a bit with the changing weather. Colder weather has us playing at 2 pm (M/W/ F/S/Sun) and if it's not so cold, we play at 6 pm. Some play on Saturday mornings (first three Saturdays of the month) at 8 am. One can always get a group together and play any day or time within Lodge hours. Please contact us should you want to learn this sport. We have extra paddles and balls. ~ Lizzie Carbajal Gallegos, Jpaez111555@gmail.com Paddle Tennis Pickleball players ready to start our tournament Thanks to our tournament organizer… Kelly Vucinic you are our wonder woman!
