Genealogy Interest Group
We are a growing group of individuals who want to find out about
their heritage and their ancestry. Curiosity about those who came
before and formed us is important. The group provides tools to
do your research and help in getting started. For the experienced,
we can offer suggestions to break through the brick walls of past
generations. Meeting with others looking in the same geographical
areas is a great help.
We have both Apple computers and PCs in the computer room. We
will meet for a help session on Sat., Feb. 18. Newcomers are welcome.
All sessions can be seen on the TAG calendar.
We are happy to offer the World Explorer version of Ancestry.com
free of charge in the computer room. This program would cost an
individual about $100 a month. We also offer the Family Tree Maker
on several of the computers in the lab. A family tree can be started
and compiled with either or both of these programs with many hints
to assist in your research. Coordinators are Dorothy Miller, Shirley

Cat Connection: The Cat Connection group is made up of OHCC
residents who have a cats or just love cats and don't have one of
their own. The Cat Connection group falls under the Pet Lovers
Club at OHCC.
Currently you do not need to be a member of the Pet
Lovers Club to join or participate in the Cat Connection
group.
The purpose of the group is simple: to help cat owners
with the feeding, cleaning and loving of their animals when
they are away on travel or not able to care for their cats due to
illness. Everyone on the list is expected to participate in watching
other residents' cats at some point. It's not fair to expect others to
watch your cat without returning the favor, (and we do know that
some members may not be able to reciprocate due to
heath issues, etc.).
Remember this is a wonderful service provided
by your generous cat loving neighbors. So, try
to be available if someone needs your help too!
