It's almost the half-way point of 2023…where does the time go? I don't know about you, but mine is mostly spent in my sewing room! We have been trying some new ideas with our class schedule this year and it is becoming a finely-tuned machine. So many thanks go out to Terry Chamberlin, who manages the process extremely well. We're doing projects that are new to us; repeating some of the favorites; and still providing the support for the machines and our sewing room assets. Our first class this month is Thurs., June 15 from 9:30 am to 12 pm. You will make a mesh bag (one of three different sizes), with a zipper closure. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THE ZIPPER PART! I am hearing that it's an easy process as long as you have basic machine sewing skills. On Sat., June 17, the project will be a casserole carrier. We haven't made this in several years, and it has always been a favorite! The time is the same, (9:30 am to 12 pm), and as always, all classes are free to Sewing, Etc. Members and are located in the Sewing Room. Don't forget about our "rideshare" service to meetings and workshops. If you are interested in attending the monthly meetings or any of the workshops and have no transportation, please call Sharon Philippe (760) 500-3086. We have a list of volunteers who will be happy to get you to and from the event. Our Kneedlers and Hookers gather on Tuesdays from 3 to 4:30 pm, and are always looking for excuses to practice their knitting and crocheting. They would love the opportunity to make "chemo hats" for residents or family and friends of residents. Also, on Tuesday evenings (6 to 8 pm) and Fridays (12 to 3 pm) several quilters, knitters, crocheters and sewers get together for "Sew & Chats."
