46 | OHCC LIVING | JULY 2023 | Calorie Free Happy Hour If you are interested in improving strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and overall body conditioning, then you may want to consider attending an aerobics class to see if it fits your needs. is is an all standing low impact class… NO JUMPING! Christine leads each class in a warm up session followed by the aerobic session, and then she does a cool down. We use light weights for the last 10 minutes of the class. Christine sometimes adds a few exercises for balance and an easy dance for fun. Classes are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in Abravanel Hall from 10 to 11 am with instructor Christine Alesiani. You can choose the number of classes each week that you would like to attend. (ere is no class available on the second Wednesday of each month.) e cost is $5 cash per class paid directly to the instructor. You can pay for and try two classes without joining the club. e annual club dues are $6 (please make the check payable to OH Aerobics). Please contact Margie Raisigel (club president) if you have any questions at (760) 855-8838 or sungee@pacbell.net. Aerobics Golf Club May, 2023 was a busy month for the golf club. On Wed., May 17 the Mothers' Day Pajama Scramble took place. Women attired in their robes and flannel PJs, but alas no Teddy's, hit the links for this fun event. Of particular note, these three women – Sue Borland, Sheri McDaniel, and Ellen Whitson — claimed the putting contest prize by draining a 65-foot winding down hiller. Congratulations! And thanks to Patti Smith for hosting a tasty lunch. And also, thanks to Bob Bechill for providing me these professional photos of the event. Contestants enjoyed a Guys and Dolls Tournament on Sat., May 27. Kudos to Larry Ward for his hole in one on hole number one. Congratulations to Greg Cies and Sharon Gerson for their closest to the pin shots, and to Bernie Alfonso for hitting the magic circle. On Mon., May 15 our club went to the Welks Fountain Course for our Touring Amateurs Tournament. Some happy winners included Louis Russell and Nigel Nelms for their accurate closest to the pin shots. And the Magic Circle was infiltrated by Mike Ball, Bill Crosby, David Hyde, Tony Sando, Bob St Laurent, Matt Yotter, Carol Dergen, and Loretta Hartzell. Way to go everyone! July heats up with a Guys and Dolls Tournament on Sun., July 9 and Touring Amateurs on Mon., July 17 at St. Marks Executive Course. And don't forget our golf party!
