| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | SEPTEMBER 2023 | 65 Ladies Executive Golf Holy smokes! Have we had a heat wave or what? Thank goodness the fires are out and everyone is safe. Please ladies, be very cautious out there with the heat. Make sure you have plenty of water and stay hydrated. It would be a good idea to keep one of those cooling neck towels in your ice chest. Our Cheeseburger in Paradise Women's and Men's Tournament was a huge success. We even served a breakfast of egg bites, muffins, juice, and coffee. We had 38 men and 38 women sign up. However, Lyn Ball and Mike Toomey were under the weather and could not participate. Hopefully, they both are feeling better and back to playing golf. The weather even cooperated for us and it wasn't too hot and a little breeze too! The following are the winners: • 1st gross, 54: Ric Dalton, Don Laundreaux and Jane Roseblade • 1st net, 44.4: Kimberly Kim, Steve Schwartz, Anne Wood and Jim Close • 2nd gross, 56: Steve Chung, Marty Yoakum, Shelly Fisher and Joanne Vetter • 2nd net, 45.2: Lynn Domme, Joan Glenn, David Kealy and Paul Delisi • 3rd net, 45.8: Tom Keheley, Michele Walter, Larry Ellis and Valerie Crithfield • 4th net, 45.9: Danny Hype, Rich Morales, Maria Kort and Kim Egan I would like to thank everyone who participated and congratulations to all the winners. Bill Shova won closest to the pin for men and Sally Jo Schwartz won closest to the pin for the women. I would also like to thank our Pro, Brian Garlington for doing the pairings and scorecards. A thank you to Vicki Tennis, Bea Mercado, and Sally Jo Schwartz for helping with the check in, mulligans and closest to the pin for men and women and also Audrey Walsh and Donna Henning for setting up our tables and Eileen Zulkowski for the pineapple centerpieces. I would also like to thank Marsha Midget for going home and supplying us with three more bottles of margaritas. It takes a lot of ladies to put on a tournament. You ladies are awesome! Don't forget our meeting and luncheon days are always the third Tuesday of each month at the South Clubhouse. Checks are due the Tuesday before and are $15. We emphasize fun and socializing while striving to improve our game and become more familiar with the rules of golf. "Golf?! You hit down to make the ball go up. You swing left and the ball goes right. The lowest score wins. And, on top of that, the winner buys the drinks." Not sure who said it, but whoever did understands the game, at times, doesn't make much sense. Happy golfing ladies! Bill Shova Sally Jo Schwartz Jane Roseblade, Ric Dalton, and Don Laundreaux
