46 | OHCC LIVING | DECEMBER 2023 | November was a month for moving forward with a restructuring of the Club. On Nov. 3, acting President Herb Livsey assembled a group of members and tasked them to discuss various needs the Club has found necessary for moving forward. From this meeting, officers were named to restructure the Club, then call a meeting in February, aer Do Dues Day, to solidify the officers and the advisory group, adding at that time anyone interested in being an advisor. Officers named are as follows: Alinda Giansiracusa—President Herb Livsey — VP Gerry Livsey — Secretary Lori Smith — Treasurer Janet Congel — Communications Kannan Dan — Analytics Advisors: Rich Halkyard, Ron Lyon, Marla Reiter, Sharon Gertsen and Meredith Jones We will continue to use Meet-Up to describe hikes and walks, with dates and suggestions. We have added Google Form, which will be sent as an email. Changes to any walk or hike as to date will be minimal. Club members will be able to suggest, outline, and lead hikes. ese will be placed in the schedule as requested. No longer do walks or hikes have to be two weeks apart, and walks/ hikes can be scheduled back-to-back, any day of the week. e new look at our Club's activities will begin in January. Walkers who are challenged will find walks fewer than three miles, and on flat surface. We have challenges ahead as we execute new approaches to the life of the Walkers/Hikers Club. Written by: Herb Livsey/VP Walkers & Hikers Golf Club Well, as the 2023 golf season comes to a close and as we approach the holidays, let's all hope for a more peaceful world in 2024 and another enjoyable year of golf and a new pond for the coots, ducks, and errant golf balls. e last Guys and Dolls and second to last Touring Amateur tournaments took place in October. On Oct. 16 at Oaks North a few of the winners included Closest to the Pin champs Sheri McDaniel and Bill Nordberg. Magic Circle honorees were Len Holness, Gregg Hoyle, Tim Johnston, Keith ompson, and Judy Fry. And big shot out to Jean Boston for her hole in one. Guys and Dolls took place on Sun., Oct. 29. Judy Fry and Mike ornton won Closest to Pin and Cynthia Marshall took home Battle of the Sexes. e Lowest Net foursome were Greg Cies, Debbie Machnick, and Vickie and Richard Komisarek. Way to go everyone! Six Hole in One winners were recognized at the General Membership Meeting on Oct. 18: Bill Nordberg, Jim Kaminsky, Mike Hayes, Greg Coffey, Sarah Rhee, and Jean Boston. Bill Nordberg brought home $56 for being in the hole in one pool. Nice! Linda and Mike Ball look happy aer finishing their round aer the Guys and Dolls Tournament.
