8 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2024 Beaumont Pointe Warehouse Project This is currently under review by the Beaumont Planning Commission. A meeting was scheduled on Nov. 29 to hear support or non-support by residents of Beaumont. Many members from our community as well as union representatives from various trade unions attended. The use of an overflow room was necessary for the size of the crowd. The developer's representative had 10 minutes to give information on the project that is approximately 5,331,000 square feet of warehouse and retail/entertainment space. The project covers approximately 539.9 acres located currently in the City of Beaumont's sphere of influence at the western edge of town along the south side of the CA-60 (Moreno Valley Freeway). The site is approximately 2.5 miles west of the junction of Interstate 10 and CA-60, and approximately three miles west of the Interstate 10 off ramp of Oak Valley Parkway via Potrero Boulevard and approximately 14 miles east of Interstate 215. The Beaumont Planning Commission members listened to the comments of Beaumont residents who were largely in opposition to the project, and comments of the representatives of the union workers in attendance who were in favor of the project. Additionally, the Beaumont Planning Commission took phone calls from residents who could not be in attendance and had emails read from residents who commented on the project. In the end, the Beaumont Planning Commission did not decide the outcome of the Beaumont Pointe Project, and put off the decision until their next meeting in January 2024. For additional information on the Beaumont Pointe Project, contact Planning Manager, Carole Kendrick, City of Beaumont; 550 East 6th Street in Beaumont or www.Landstarco.com/about.HTML for information on the developer's plan. This is a very large project at our western city limits which necessitates follow-up and an idea how it will affect us as residents. The next meeting of the Beaumont Planning Commission will be listed in our Daily Report for our residents' information. Banning Pointe Warehouse Project The Banning Pointe Warehouse Project had a court date Nov. 17 but was continued to Jan. 31, 2024 at 1:30 pm in Riverside. No additional information is available at this time. As the court hearing proceeds, the information will be made available to us and will be listed in our Breeze magazine or Daily Report. ~ Jerry Monahan, Board President Read the Breeze monthly for updates BEAUMONT POINTE & BANNING WAREHOUSE UPDATE
