December was a fairly quiet month for our Golf Club, but one new and exciting event did
occur: The First Annual Queen of the Green Tournament took place on Dec. 6. The 12 aces of
the month competed for the title Queen of Green (formerly known as Ace of the Year). Each
queen had her own personal caddy, some of them their dutiful husbands, I assume. Bob Bechill
was the official announcer of the tourney, introducing the aces, but not their caddies, as they
prepared to tee off. Congratulations to Bev Taylor for taking the title with a net 51 score! Patti

Looking ahead to 2024, our first Guys and Dolls tournament takes place on Sat., Feb. 17. We
will have to wait until April 15 for Touring Amateurs at Native Oaks to kick off the season. Also
upcoming will be our reintroduced Special Tournaments. Bob Fisher announced that the top
16-point getters of our Men's Monday and Tuesday tournaments will face off at the end of the
year. I think ESPN will be here to cover this epic competition.
