Bolstered by a turnout of 80 appreciative members and guests, the
spring celebration party of the Table Tennis Club on April 14 proved
to be an overwhelming success.
Dubbed the Taco Pong Party, there was a full spread taco bar AND
three tables set up for table tennis (aka ping pong) in Abravanel Hall.
Enthusiastic players of varying skill levels got to have fun playing
together.
e food was catered by the highly regarded Taquizas Guadarrama.
In addition to the taco bar, the variety of decadent desserts prepared
by our club members Sandy Chin and Kim Curl were a big hit.
OHCC resident and table tennis player Jason Neag/ Smooth
Grooves served as DJ playing smooth jazz grooves and several light
rock mixes to the delight of all in attendance. e music brought
plenty of people out of their seats for impromptu dancing.
anks go out to Eileen Haydon, Susan Martin, Vickie Foster,
Cliff Singh, Babu Patrose, Tim Rogers and Stan Katz for their help in
making this event come off without a hitch.
Table tennis is played weekly on Mon., Wed., Fri., Sat. and Sun.
in the Mykonos Room. Play is moved to Abravanel Hall when
Mykonos is needed for other events. Residents with interest in
learning the game or getting back into it, are invited to drop by. Be
sure to check the weekly calendar online or paper copy to confirm
