"You are given this life because you were strong enough to live
it." Anonymous
The first time you connect with another widowed person,
an unexpected glimpse of hope for your future will appear. The
sense of relief you will feel sitting in front of someone else who is
also widowed gives you the freedom to express yourself. Being
surrounded by loving friends and family, many do
not know what it is like to be alone. As much as they
try to understand your sadness, they can't. You will
wish they understood, but another part will be glad
they don't know your despair.
Meeting other widowed people will change your
life. It will ensure that your foggy brain and terrible
sadness are normal. It will allow you to confirm
that building a new life of meaning is possible. You
will experience the relief that is available to you as a person who
experienced the death of a loved one you were planning to spend
your life with.
Access to a supportive peer community will provide the
understanding, comfort, and hope needed to begin rebuilding your
life. Our tools, programs, and events are designed specifically for
widows. We serve individuals with compassion and a sense of hope
for the future.
The club is willing and available for support and caring on the
third Saturday of most months at 10 am for a social gathering in
Abravanel Hall for coffee and exciting speakers. Membership is
$10/year. We are here for you if you want hope for the future. Please
don't hesitate to contact us. We don't meet in July or
August. Our Summer Potluck is Sat., July 27, in the
Palm Court from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. If you would like
