Golf
Club
July looks to be a busy month for the golf club with three exciting
tournaments on the horizon. Kicking off the month is our first Special
Tournament in quite a while. The tourney will take place over two
days, on Mon., July 8 and Tues., July 9. The tournament is hosted
by Tony and Bev Gillett and sponsored by Merrill Lynch. Thanks to
them and all other volunteers for their efforts and kindness. Next
up is Touring Amateurs on July 15 at the St. Marks Executive Course.
Finishing the month is Guys and Dolls on Sat., July 27
On Mon., May 13 many of us played Touring Amateurs at the Welks
Fountain Course. Some of the winners included Closest to the Pin:
Teresa Deutman and Scott Sloan. Magic Circlers were Jim Gilliam, Bill
Nordberg, Sonny Raisigel, Randy Royter, Teresa Deutman, and Lois
Russell. Looks like Teresa had a good tournament! Guys and Dolls
took place on Sat., May 25. Closest to the Pinners were Kit Dameron,
who made a hole in one the hole, Bob Fisher, and Vincent Siciliano.
Magic Circle Winners were Bernie Alfonso, Greg Cies, Charlotte St
Vincent, Gloria Whitman, and Suzanne Patten. Congratulations to
them and all other big money winners that day.
And I can't forget to mention the other huge tournament of May,
The Mothers' Day Scramble and luncheon held on Wed., May 15.
Thanks to all who participated and helped out that day. Included are
a couple photos of some of the happy ladies who enjoyed the day, and
a photo of two of the even lovelier volunteers cheering on the golfers.
The golf season is just heating up. Stayed tuned for more
information on upcoming competitions. And don't forget our
summer party is taking place on Wed., July 15 on the Lanai or Hall.
