Good food, good friends and a little friendly competition were the order of the day. The two winning players were Bruce Ray and Karen Nichols. If you want to get some exercise with a friendly, fun group, it doesn't matter if you have played before or have never played. We will help you get involved and will provide racquets and instruction to get you started. The club has monthly dinners, ladies potluck lunches and sponsors many fun tournaments. Racquet Club By Karen Nichols, 619-550-8194 Scott & Glenn hosted the Paddle breakfast and Karen and Bruce won the Paddle tournament Our summer bowling league is over, and the results are in. There was a fierce battle for 1st place the last week of bowling, and King & Queens swept the Girl in the Middle all four games and won the league by one game! The winning teams were, 1st place, King & Queens: Olivia Perez, Hank Fleischer, Gloria Fleischer; 2nd place, Girl in the Middle: Ralph Sanzari, Denise Godknecht, John Haller; 3rd place, The Colony Triad: Ken Kurator, Ted Noun, Carol Hitchcock. Individual Award Winners were: High League Avg. - Hank Fleischer 175.88, Jerry Hanson 170.17 High Game Scratch - John Haller 215, Ali Holland 220 High Series Scratch - Rick Gundo 563, Gloria Fleischer 501 High Game Hdcp - Ed Munroe 265, Susie Pawlowski 261 High Series Hdcp - Ted Noun 676, Angie Tiplitsky 704 The Summer League was short and fun; now we are ready for our Winter League, which starts on Thursday, Sept.5, and runs through May 15. Please contact Beverly Patten at 949-338-5539 if you wish to join. It is a Handicap League, so in essence we are all at the same level. We have monthly dinners in the Auditorium or at restaurants during the season. There is usually $7,000-$8,000 in prize money available at the end of the season.
