32 | LIFE IN SOLERA | SEPTEMBER 2024 | Look who just bought a new fifth wheel RV. Solera RV Group members Richard and Joleen Carlson recently traded in their Lance trailer for a brand new 2024 Grand Design Reflection 150 Series fifth wheel recreational vehicle. Let's take a peek at their new home on wheels. Starting on the outside, the new fifth wheel features a pullout outdoor grill and a mini refrigerator. The Carlsons love to cook and this is a very important feature for them. We can't wait to start eating the Carlsons famous tacos from the outside grill. Other outside features include a very large pass-through storage compartment in the front of the fifth wheel for easy access to all of their camping gear. An 18-foot automatic curbside awning provides plenty of shade to relax under and helps keep the inside cool. Inside is where the magic begins. This fifth wheel has a driver's side slide out to provide expanded interior living space. Upon entry, you're greeted by a very nice breakfast nook. As we walk toward the rear, there is an electric fireplace which doubles as a heater. A 78-inch sleeper sofa faces a 40-inch flat screen television for the Carlsons viewing pleasure after a long day of riding their e-bikes. The kitchen boasts a three burner cook top and oven range. A large microwave oven completes the kitchen. Refrigeration needs are met by a very unique all electric/solar 10-cubic-foot refrigerator. In the very rear of the fifth wheel, there is a very large farmers sink, our favorite feature of this fifth wheel. The large sink is perfect for pots and pans. The pantry is large and surrounded by even more cabinets. All of the windows are double pane to provide excellent insulation from the heat and cold. The inside is cooled by a single 15,000 BTU air conditioner unit with wiring to add another air conditioner. Moving toward the front of the fifth wheel is a cozy bathroom. The bedroom is next door. The bedroom has a standard queen size bed. There is plenty of storage to store clothing and other items. Another unique feature of this fifth wheel is that the inside has motion detector lights. This is perfect for the Carlsons cat or for late night snack runs to the kitchen. Electrical service to the fifth wheel is by a solar/battery combo for off grid camping and 50-amp electrical service when camping in a full-service campground. There is no generator, solar power is the way to go for this modern fifth wheel. This fifth wheel RV is sure to provide the Carlsons many years of camping pleasure. Congratulations to Richard and Joleen on the purchase of your beautiful fifth wheel. ~ Ron and Debbie Monroe, (909) 732-6139 RV GROUP
