Our monthly tournament on October 10 was comprised of 12 foursomes, which provided 48 golfers competing for two first- place positions in the "A & B Format." This is always a spirited and hotly contested event, and this one was no exception. The issue was a rogue team prematurely picked up the Closest to the Pin on #15. My ongoing investigation determined that was one of three possible teams. While I was establishing the winner of the CTP for the group on #15, I contacted Bill to confirm his distance on a CA Oaks Scorecard. As Bill confirmed his distance, he suggested, "the team accountable for the #15 box needs a Darwin," thus interrupting an ongoing investigation. Our next contest is set for Thursday, Dec. 12, and it will be our most popular venue, "Pick Your Own Foursome." As with all Jack and Jill events, you DO NOT have to be a member of either the Men's or Women's Golf Clubs to play. Just pick up your sticks and join us for the fun and friendly competition. There is so much to be thankful for living here in The Colony, and now we are looking forward to an enjoyable and safe holiday season. Our Ladies Golf Club meets every Tuesday at 8 am with different, fun games each week. Our November luncheon was so nice, and dessert was a birthday cake celebrating Connie VanderByl's 91st birthday! The November Turkey Shoot winners were announced, and the 4th quarter ringer money was handed out. In December, we will be installing the 2025 Board during our holiday luncheon. As we do every year, we are donating food for the local food pantries, and this year we are also donating clothes to kids, ages 5-12, whose parents are incarcerated.
