FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2024 39 Seasoned Singles November was a very busy month for the Singles. Several of the gals attended the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley's "Howler-Ween Casino Night" and others attended LifeHouse Theater's production of A Spoonful of Sherman, a tribute to the music of Richard and Robert Sherman. We also celebrated October birthdays with a lunch at BJ's Brewery and had our first outing to the new Boston's Pizza and Sports Bar. Several gals attended the "Art for Heaven's Sake" show in Redlands and some attended a lecture at ESRI in Redlands. We rounded out our month with a wonderful "Movies with the Maestro" San Bernardino Symphony concert. If you're single and would like to join us for outings like these, we meet on the first Friday of the month at 6 pm in The Lodge Arts & Crafts Room. On Oct. 3, 2024, the Tails and Trails Recovery Team was notified of a loose dog, here in Four Seasons. A small, white Yorkie named Ziggy had escaped and was running free. It was unseasonably hot for October and poor Ziggy was without water or food. The first caller let the team know that Ziggy was spotted on Trail B in front of the White Sands area. The next call was from Sams Canyon. They were told that a small, white dog ran into a homeowner's garage. The next sighting was from the Mock Bluff area. By this time, we had about 50 to 75 neighbors and others involved in trying to recover Ziggy. Our team called people and many jumped in to assist. Although people saw Ziggy, it was obvious he was frightened and continued to run away. He was last seen on the slope below Mock Bluff and near the Sams Canyon area that evening at dark. Then no one could locate or catch him. Since it was getting dark, the group had to call off its search for that day. They had no choice but to continue our search the next day. It was difficult knowing that Ziggy would spend the night alone and frightened. Also, the team was concerned about all the coyotes, bobcats, and raccoons in our community. They hoped little Ziggy could make it through the night without being harmed. The next morning, Ziggy was spotted on the Edison Easement just off Pipe Springs. One of our recovery team members on Buck Springs saw him running there. We called his owner to hurry over and bring her other dog, Bella. Luckily Ziggy did, in fact, run up to Bella and his owner. What a happy conclusion after what seemed like a very long 24 hours. The Tails and Trails Recovery Team and some wonderful neighbors voluntarily spent an entire day searching in 100+ degree heat on Ziggy's behalf. We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated group here at Four Seasons. ~ Vivian Walker, vivr@sbcglobal.net e Singles attended the "Movies with the Maestro" San Bernardino Symphony Concert
