The November Tournament teed up 12 foursomes vying for first place position in the "Random Draw" competition. This was a spirited event on a perfectly beautiful autumn morning of a clear, crispy and sunny day. The scores were very competitive and close, but as with all contests, a winning team did emerge. When the tournament was over, the following players posted winning positions: Winning Teams 1st - 51.12: Rich Brown, Jamie Calvert, John and Jennifer Funke 2nd - 51.451: Terry Lundquist, Sue Jordan, James Barnes and Paula Thompson 3rd - 52.603: Joe Cwirka, Marge Anderson, Dan and Sheryl Beamish 4th - 53.329: Bruce Smith, Barbara Crosdale, Gary Wilson and Linda Peterson Closest to the Pin #5 - Women, Paula Thompson – 23'9" / Men, Malcolm Grant – 9'8" #15 - Women, Anita Hoetker – 15'6" / Men, Rich Brown – 7'0" #16 - Team #1A, Rich Brown, Jamie Calvert, John and Jennifer Funke – 5'9" The DARWIN AWARD goes to Rick Lake for placing his team score card into the Jack & Jill mail slot thus creating a "lost score card" incident at the conclusion of the tournament. (Pre-tournament meeting instructions include "… deposit your scorecard in the 'Styrofoam Box' in pro-shop.") Our next contest is set for Thursday, Jan. 9, and will be our most popular venue, the "Regular Scramble." As with all Jack and Jill events, you DO NOT have to be a member of either the Men's or Women's Golf Clubs to play. Just pick up your sticks and join us for the fun and friendly competition. Time seems to fly by faster as we get older. With our annual golf holiday luncheon, we had installation of our 2025 Board. Sue Jordan was our installing officer, and it was very inspirational. Anita Hoetker will be our new president; Donita Scott, Vice President; Judy Lebovitz, Secretary; Denise Stern, Treasurer; Debbie Johnson, Tournament Director; Sherry Roberts, Handicap Chair; Marge Anderson, Parliamentarian. Anita announced her committee chairs for the upcoming year, and outgoing president Sherry Roberts thanked everyone on her Board for a great year. We applauded Sherry for her job as president for the past two years. Lunch was delicious and had an open bar. Everyone had come dressed in holiday attire, and our social hour was so enjoyable. Many commented on how blessed we are to have this wonderful, fun club. We look forward to another year of golfing and friendship. We have both 18 and 9 hole group players every Tuesday and, for the next three months, we tee off at 8:30 am. If you are interested in more information about our club, please feel free to contact me.
