| SUN CITY CORE COURIER | MARCH 2025 | 3 First, I would like to say again that we are going to have a great year. The Board is planning four dinners and dances. I won't tell you when the first one is — April is a big one — oops I was not going to tell you and will not tell you casino night is this month. Look for date in here. Dueling pianos will be back as well as Ray's band and darn good grub. I hope to see you all there! There still is no word on the golf course, but I will let you know when we do get information. When we do, we will plan a mass town hall meeting for the members of the Sun City Civic Association (SCCA). This meeting will not include the developers and we'll answer questions to the best of our ability. This brings me to another point again — if you are not in the SCCA mass email list, please go to the office to fill out the form. We do not share the information with anyone. If you mark the box not to share, it is safe and only in our system. Do us a favor — when you are out shopping or at a restaurant, if you could please speak to the owner or manager and ask why they do not have an ad in our magazine. Our magazine is paid fully by ads and, as you can see in the magazine, we are wavering on being able to afford production. It is expensive, but it is a beautiful magazine. The cost to us for the magazine is a hit to our budget that we cannot withstand. Help us by asking those people why they are not advertising in our magazine. All they have to do is contact the office, and they will put them in contact with the publisher. By the time you get this magazine we will be finishing up with SCE parking lots. Our apologies that the campus was closed in late January. It needed to happen because they had to pull wire to install new transformers. We had to completely shut down and unplug all equipment on campus to ensure that when the power was turned on/off, we did not have a big surge of power to blast through everything. It was quite an undertaking. As for outdoor activities, they were closed because key card gates were all inoperable; pumps and heaters were off at the pool; and on and on, so thank you for your patience. I look forward to seeing you at casino night and have a great March! P.S. For the median on Cherry Hills, the City came through and completed the landscape project. It took a few years, but it is done now. Thank you to Bob Karwin for being on top of this. P.P.S. As you have noticed by now, there are a lot of new trees/ plants on the campus along Sun City Boulevard and Cherry Hills Boulevard. Just to let you know, as promised, we mapped out all the sewer and water lines and irrigation. Louie's Nursery gave us a great deal on crepe myrtles, roses, and bougainvillea, so there will be lots of color this summer when everything blooms.
