| SUN CITY CORE COURIER | MAY 2025 | 13 Woodshop Raffle in Honor of Memorial Day The Woodshop will be raffling off a hand crafted, wooden American Flag just in time for Memorial Day. At the time this article needed to be submitted to the Core Courier, the flag to be raffled off was in the process of being made. The picture posted resembles what the flag will look like and is not the flag being raffled off. Be sure to stop by the woodshop in May to see the American Flag that will be raffled off. The size of the flag will be approximately 10" x 19". It will be made of pine wood, and each of the 50 stars will be hand carved. The size of this flag will be perfect to hang on a wall or displayed on a shelf, mantle, or desk. Thank you to Woodshop Member, Lynn Gaughen, for taking the time to make and donate this beautiful Patriotic American Flag. So that the lucky raffle winner can display and enjoy the flag over the Memorial Day holiday, the WINNING raffle ticket will be drawn on Thurs., May 22 at 11 am. Stop by the Woodshop, Monday-Fridays from 8 am to 2 pm or Saturdays from 9 am to 12 pm, to purchase that winning raffle ticket. Tickets are priced at two tickets for $5 or five tickets for $10. You do not need to be a member of the Woodshop to purchase tickets. The raffle is open to everyone who lives within the Core, and you do not need to be present to win. The winner will be called. If the person holding the winning raffle ticket does not respond after numerous telephone calls over a one-week period, then another ticket will be drawn and that new winner will be called. The Woodshop thanks you for your support. Good luck to everyone! Woodshop Group Quilting Club Cares If anything can be said about the Quilting Club, it is that the members care. We care about local veterans in our community. We care about children. We care about helping where needed. In the past six months, we have shipped quilts to the flood victims in North Carolina. We delivered dozens of quilts to fire victims in Altadena. Then recently, we delivered 28 kids quilts to one of our local foster agencies. Now, we are busy making quilts for the next need. If anyone would like to make a donation so that we can continue our efforts, please contact Rose Rhoads at 951-533-7520. Quilting Club
