From the President, Mike Caldwell: Greetings to 4 Seasons residents. It is a wonderful time of year to play golf. e weather is near perfect, and the golf course conditions are improving. e level of participation on Tuesday mornings has been increasing but there is room for more players. All residents of the Hemet 4 Seasons community are welcome to join the 4 Seasons Golf Club. Please contact Blair Becker, our membership chairperson (see below). A golf story from Golf Monthly to which I can relate. "Playing on the second day of our annual club tournament, I must confess to feeling a bit hungover on the rst hole. But, aer a dicult couple of moments, I dug deep and decided to concentrate fully on the task in hand. I went through my pre-shot routine and stood up to the ball. Just before I was about to pull the trigger, I heard a shout from the starter's box. "Would the gentleman on the ladies tee please move back to the men's tee." I was in the zone and, unperturbed, I settled over the ball a second time. "Sir, please move o the ladies' tee and back to the men's tee boxes," the voice persisted. Now I was a touch more rattled, but I decided to ignore the voice and just get on with the shot I was facing. "For the last time, would the gentleman on the ladies tee please move back to the men's tee boxes." is time I decided action was required, so I stood up from my shot, turned around and retorted, "Would the gentleman in the starters box please stop shouting and allow me to play my second shot!" From the Vice President, Bob Morriss: It appears that the Beaumont club's interest in participating in the 4 Seasons Tournament has waned, and the Club will now pursue a tournament with just the Murietta club. A second round of free golf lessons from Joe Tretter was oered to all residents of Hemet 4 Seasons by the Golf Club in April. From the Secretary, Mike McLaughlin: On a sad note, Javier Parada's stepson suddenly passed away. Please keep Cathy and Javier in your thoughts and prayers during this especially dicult time. From the Tournament Chair, Elliott Yaeger: June 3, 7:30 am - Memorial Tournament-Eclectic Round 2 8 am - Individual: NINE Hole Low Net Tournament June 10, 7:30 am - Individual: row Out One Hole from the Front and one from the Back 8 am - Individual: NINE Hole Low Net Tournament June 17, 7:30 am - Partners Best Net Score per Hole 8 am - Individual: NINE Hole Low Net Tournament June 24, 7:30 am - Team Scramble 8 am - Individual: NINE Hole Low Net Tournament From the Membership Chair, Blair Becker: e membership numbers for this month total 97 members (84 listed as playing members and 13 listed as social members). In April, the club gained two new members: Rick Grimm and Larry Sandberg. Applications for membership in the Club are available in e Lodge. e club has two types of memberships, playing members and social members (non-playing members at a reduced annual fee). If you are interested, please contact Blair Becker: 163blair@ gmail.com. From the Social Committee Chair, Meredith Becker: e Memorial Bench dedication was an overwhelming success. e plaques that were on the "Cross on the Hill" were replicated and placed on a new bench near the ninth hole tee boxes. We are more than just Golf ! What a wonderful day it turned out to be for our Poker Run! Kudos to Deede Hulme for her three of a kind winning hand. e food was great; the games were a lot of fun; and the attendees were amazing!! I am now working on a date for our summer BBQ, will keep you updated. From the "Just When I thought that Golf Was Getting Easy," Mike McLaughlin: Oen golfers get frustrated when a tee shot heads out of bounds, or a putt stops an inch short of the cup. However, the game can bring happiness in the form of a birdie or dropping a thirty- foot putt. Roxy Snider's joy is apparent aer she got her rst ever "closest to the pin" and it reminds us of the good feelings that golf can trigger and should serve as an enticement to come out and join us on Tuesdays.
