WAlkers and Hikers
The summer months brought warmer weather, but it did not
keep OHCC hikers and walkers from experiencing great walks,
especially coastal ones, and engaging in conversations with their
OHCC friends and neighbors. Some of our favorite summer walks
were from Del Mar to Torrey Pines and Moonlight Beach to Beacon
Beach, and of course our very close Buena Vista Park.
The highlight of August was the Annual Summer Party, when
over 85 OHCC Hikers/Walkers partied at the Lanai with delicious
tacos and salsa and guacamole from Mariano's Taco Truck and
danced to music by Reynaldo. Besides the delicious food and festive
atmosphere, the best part about our summer party is that it is free!
The party is a benefit to all members and is paid for with our $8/
yearly dues. Please join our club, either now or at the next Do Dues
Day, and we will see you at next year's summer party!
If you would like to try us out before you join, please join us
for a walk or hike! We are certain you will enjoy yourself! Please
check the OHCC Walkers/Hikers group on the website for updated
information as to our latest walks (three miles or less, relatively
f lat) or hikes (usually more than three miles, plus elevation). We
also invite you to lead a walk or hike if you have a favorite place to
share with your neighbors.
