We enjoy getting together for this challenging, thought-provoking past time. It's a battle of wits that takes place every Wednesday from 9 am to 4 pm in the Game Room. Bring a sack lunch because we don't break for food! There are two five minute bathroom breaks — one at 11:32 am and the second at 2:04 pm — so plan accordingly. We also utilize a timer limiting players to no more than 15 minutes to study the board. If you are new to the game or haven't played in awhile we encourage you to study some YouTube videos on the strategy and history of the game. There's a good one produced by National Geographic that is in five parts (10 hours total). Membership dues are $20/month to pay for the custom wooden playing box and gold leaf Xs and Os. Our group has grown in popularity! On any given Friday, we have six to nine tables. The Crazy Bunco Ladies (Cheryl and Linda) always add little twists to keep things fun and exciting. If you're looking for a fun afternoon and a chance to meet new people, join us on Fridays in the Game Room (first, third, and fifth Fridays) or the RCN (second and fourth Fridays) from 1 to 3 pm. It is a tile-based game for two to four players combining elements of the card game rummy and mahjong. Rummikub was invented in the 50s by Ephraim Hertzano, a Romanian-born Jew. He had made the first sets with his family in the backyard of his home and sold them door to door. Over the years, the family licensed it to other countries. In the 1970s, it was brought to the United States. We welcome you to come and join us on Mondays from 2 to 4 pm in The Lodge Game Room. It's no problem if you have never played before.
